Meet Megan Carter, Fantasy Alumni

Fantasy is magical, and it’s a place where anyone can belong and find their place...It’s about being involved in something special.
— Megan Carter

Megan Carter’s journey with Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy (FPCTA) began three decades ago, when she was just nine years old, and her family encouraged her to join the cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Megan would soon know that this first show would become the start of a lifelong relationship, not just with theater and the performing arts, but with a community that would help shape who she is today.

Megan is a communications strategist at NASA, where her ability to think outside the box and respond on her feet is an essential part of her work. She credits many of these skills to her early years onstage and backstage at Fantasy. Whether as an Oompalumpa or on the streets of Victorian London in A Christmas Carol, Megan found that the lessons learned at Fantasy translated far beyond the stages and walls she performed in.

Fantasy has always been a family affair for Megan. From her first performance as a child to now, as a parent of two, she’s shared the stage with her siblings, her own kids, and her husband, making Fantasy a true generational tradition.

For Megan, Fantasy isn’t just about putting on shows; it’s about building a community where everyone feels safe, encouraged, and valued. She believes there is truly something for everyone at Fantasy, whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping into the world of theater for the very first time. What started as a family tradition has grown into a lifelong passion, connecting Megan to countless friends, mentors, and memories along the way.

Megan’s journey with FPCTA is a testament to the power of theater and the Fantasy Family to bring people together and to create communities that last a lifetime. She is proud to be part of Fantasy’s legacy, and even prouder to watch her family continue that tradition one show at a time.
