Meet Kristin Sullens and Bobby D., Fantasy Parent and Student
“Fantasy has given us the opportunity to build confidence.”
Kristin Sullens, an optometrist and mother to Bobby D., who is involved in Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy (FPCTA), has guided both on a remarkable journey. Her son, Bobby D., a bright and imaginative child who, like many, once faced challenges with shyness and social interaction. Wanting to help nurture Bobby's confidence and voice, Kristian turned to FPCTA, an organization renowned for its transformative youth programs and camps. By engaging kids in the performative arts.
Enrolling Bobby in FPCTA Camps was a pivotal decision. These camps, centered around creative expression, theater arts, and collaborative play, provided Bobby with a welcoming environment to explore his imagination and talents. Under the guidance of caring mentors and surrounded by supportive peers, Bobby began to come out of his shell. He discovered a love for storytelling, acting, and teamwork, skills that not only enriched his camp experiences but also carried over into his daily life.
Kristian has been Bobby’s steadfast supporter every step of the way, celebrating his achievements and encouraging him to embrace new opportunities. She credits the Fantasy Playhouse staff and their unique camp environment with helping Bobby develop self-assurance, build lasting friendships, and find joy in creative expression. For Kristian, watching Bobby transform through his time at FPCTA has been deeply rewarding, reaffirming her belief in the power of the arts to change lives.
Today, Kristian Sullens and Bobby are examples of the magic of the FPCTA community, and they are grateful for the positive impact it has had on their lives. Their story is a testament to how a nurturing environment, supportive family, and the magic of theater can help a child blossom and thrive.
