The creative team is seeking a dynamic ensemble of approximately 12-15 performers for Goodman and Tanner’s Winnie-the-Pooh: The Musical. This sweet adaptation of the timeless A.A. Milne classic is told through the imaginative play of our children narrators and their adult friends. Set in a modern children’s playroom, this musical will delight audiences as each scene transforms the everyday toys and stuffed animals into the Hundred Acre Woods and its inhabitants.
We seek performers who move well, sing with confidence, exude a strong sense of imagination, and showcase a willingness to play in a joyful and collaborative environment.
Rather than performing a monologue side, please come to the audition prepared to sing a song from one of the provided songs. Please see the audition notice for all LINKS.

This workforce development program offers professional opportunities for students and alumni of AAMU. Artistic Director Stephen Tyler Davis works closely with Assistant Professor Jill Coon to create a curriculum that is the perfect blend of teaching foundational skills inside the classroom and developing young artists to prepare them for the first paid professional contract. This partnership is a commitment to workplace development and creating the next generation of artists here in Huntsville and beyond.

Cocktails Under the Stars
Get ready for our 2nd Annual Cocktails Under the Stars! (CUTS). CUTS is back and with a new look. CUTS is Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy’s annual fundraising event, which supports FPCTA’s dynamic growth and celebrates its role as an arts education leader for children in North Alabama. We invite you to join us on August 16, 2025, at our new building located on the Boulevard (3320 Triana Blvd SW)! The evening will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a silent auction of high-quality items and unique experiences from some of North Alabama’s favorite businesses. This event is 21+. Included in your ticket price is TWO drink tickets. Additional drink tickets may be purchased online or onsite.
Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy (FPCTA) provides theatre arts access through production, education, and outreach, reaching tens of thousands of residents annually, the majority of whom are children and youth. FPCTA enriches the lives of children and families through theatre and arts education, encouraging students to become self-confident, academically successful, creative-thinking citizens who are more likely to invest in their communities as adults. FPCTA’s core programs include live children’s theatre productions, classes, camps, workshops, private lessons, and educational outreach through after-school classes and touring programs. A new Cinderella will be presented by Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater & Academy to kick off their 65th Season. This world premiere production will be the first mainstage production at our new home on the Boulevard!
The creative team is seeking a dynamic ensemble of approximately 25 performers for the world premiere of Cinderella, a new adaptation by Stephen Tyler Davis, music by Stacy Morris, and additional story by Penny Hester! This brand-new, fantastical retelling is filled with heart, humor, magic, and original songs you’ll be singing all the way home!
SYNOPSIS: The original fairytale first lady is back with a fresh world premiere retelling! Guided by a firefly-whispering Fairy Godmother, Cinderella isn’t searching for a prince—she’s honoring a promise, discovering her voice, and daring to believe in something greater than herself. Not just gowns, slippers, and pumpkins, Cinderella is the story of courage, loyalty, and true beauty! A joyful kickoff to Fantasy Playhouse’s 65th Season On the Boulevard, this new work blends heart, humor, and original songs that shine—inviting audiences of all ages to dream big, believe boldly, and step fully into who they are meant to be.

Optional: 30-45 seconds (about 16-bar cut) song of choice. Actor(s) must provide a track or sing a cappella.

Optional Cover Letter with a brief personal statement on why they want to be in Lab 87 and their strengths as an actorABOUT: Lab 87 is FPCTA's pre-professional training program intended for serious performers ages 13-18. Students will be exposed to a variety of performance skills, including on-camera acting (including self-tape), resume building, musical theatre, audition technique, voice & movement, and classical text work. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with college programs and area professionals in the performing arts field. Each student will leave the class with their own customized audition book of material and updated resume. The class will culminate in a performance showcase. The goal of Lab 87 is for our students to graduate from the program with the necessary skills to work and train professionally as performing artists. Admission is by audition only in August of each year. Previous members are automatically enrolled in the upcoming program. Lab 87 meets weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm during the academic year.
Previous acting and/or musical theatre coursework or equivalent experience is required. Recommended prerequisites include Acting/Musical Theatre and/or a Performance Showcase.
Tuition is $495 for the academic year. Payment plans and tuition assistance available.

Fans of TV shows like "Whose Line Is It Anyway" will fall in-love with this fast-paced, interactive, family-friendly improv show!
The 5th Friday of the month is a special edition of the show called SUGGESTION BOX! Suggestion Box is the same short-form improv style you know and love, with just a little more chaos. Twice the suggestions, twice the chaos! See you there!
