Meet Willow F., Fantasy Kid

Fantasy helps build strong bonds through acting, scene partners, and going to class with people. It’s fun. It’s immersive. It makes you want to have more fun with these people.
— Willow F.

Willow F. is an emerging young performer whose passion for theater has grown rapidly during her three years as an “FPCTA Kid.” From the moment she stepped into her first production, with FPCTA’s main-stage production of  Space Monkeys,  Willow found not only a creative outlet but a place where she could truly belong. She was first drawn to Space Monkey’s because of her passion and love of space. She was cast in the monkey ensemble, embracing the energy, imagination, and collaboration that the production demanded. Being cast in the show marked the beginning of Willow's journey through the arts. Starting in main-stage productions gave Willow a strong foundation and accelerated her growth as a performer. Immersed in a fast-paced, ensemble-driven environment, she quickly developed key theatrical skills, learning how to take direction, build a character, and work as part of a team.

Beyond performing at FPCTA, theater has had a deep impact on Willow’s personal development. Through her time at FPCTA, she has learned important life lessons about being a more empathetic and caring person. She has become more expressive, building strong social connections and friends. Through those formative experiences of performing on stage, Willow learned how to build better relationships with her peers.

As Willow continues to grow through performance experiences, she has begun to seriously consider theater as a future career path. The confidence and skills she has gained, particularly in audition settings, have empowered her to pursue new opportunities with determination and courage. Each audition and rehearsal has strengthened her confidence in picking up things in the audition room, such as audition dances and cold reads.

Looking ahead, Willow is passionate about helping shape her theater community, doing her part to ensure it is welcoming and inclusive for people who wish to perform. She believes deeply that theater should be a diverse space where everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired to share their story. With her enthusiasm, dedication, and growing skill set, Willow France represents the next generation of artists who are not only performers but advocates for a more vibrant community at FPCTA.
